What is Scoop? Something new? Lol, yes I am more than sick of it. I am also tired of the pressure they put on us to sell this crap and the stress it causes.

Until there is someone with a foodservice background running USF, you'll continue to have Scoop shoved down your throats.

Sad part is, those clowns in Rosemont don't understand that the reps complain about it because...THE CUSTOMER DON'T WANT THAT CRAP!!!!

It simply is...what it is.

Sorry.

There are always a few decent products buried in each Scoop. Most chefs worth a damn could make most of these things. Some of them are just stupid. Watermelon radishes? Who cares? Brussel Sprout Petals? Really? Most of my customers could care less.

I'm hoping that a merger with PFG is on the horizon. I understand they are still run by foodservice people.

We are.

And by the way, the slow smoked beer brisket doesn't look too bad...

Another new item is Turds in a Blanket ... wait a minute ... upon taking a second look, they are actually cheese and jalepeno bits stuffed into bite sized churros. Same difference. Both are crap.

Last week I took out two cooler bags of samples to 8 customers.  These were items Customers wanted to see.  I placed 12 new items.  This has generated 60 new cases per week, every week. All new items I was not previously selling to them.

Compare this to a USFood salesman, having to do Scoop show and tell with "PICTURES" only, yes they are nice pictures, but pictures none the less,  of items that USFood wants to sell their customers. Not necessarily what the customer wants to see. A nice catalog that ends up in the waste basket.  Then that same salesman spends the second half of his day reporting in Sales Force how many widgets he showed and to whom. After all, you have to have a track record, so USFood can convince the next Group of Scoop Suckers to invest in the next rollout.  Imagine, thousands of sales folk, showing nice pictures of your product to tens of thousands of customers. All Bogus info.

So if you are a potential Scoop Sucker, and you don't believe me....just randomly pick out 10 sales people from say the Corona Division.  Ask for their Runzheimer mileage report showing where those salespeople have been on the day they were out doing Dog and Pony shows with the new Scoop line. They just might have been home all day filing their Sales Force Report. Who knows!!! After all, the appearance of sales activity, is much more important than results.

I bet my 60 case per week increase is more than the entire Corona Divisions weekly sales will be in new Scoop.

Some of the items are a joke but some are okay. What i cant wrap my head around is the way we embarrass ourselves by bringing on fresh items every scoop that are not sourced properly. So we never have stock on them. So you are either begging for a sale or telling someone its no stock.

Our division already burned through all the sample packs. Now we'll have to cannibalize cases from stock THAT PEOPLE COULD SELL to make up our own sample kits.

Most of my customers go "that's nice", but have no need for most of the stuff.

I've sold the hell out of the Battered Avocados, Churros and Rocket Blend. If you are having a hard time selling this Scoop, that's on you.

As for the division that sampled everything out. Shame on them. There were specific cases of samples that were not for purchase just for this reason.
