It's logistics. Las Vegas is three hours from Ontario CA and they only do about 20 million is sales. Currently Phoenix is shuttled by Ontario as well and they are 5 hours away but do close to 30 million. Phoenix is currently undergoing an expansion of their building so they will be a stand alone operation. They are keeping the sales manager and three sales reps along with three drivers. Office staff and warehouse personnel are being let go. Will-call business will come to an end and when the lease expires they will move, maybe even before the lease expires.
The Vegas market is a weird one that is run by the casino's. It's tough to grow and they are pretty much locked forever at 20 million. BakeMark in Vegas has added about 1500 lines of food primarily in the pizza business to supplement their sales. They too are locked at about 30 million in sales. US Foods owns the market and there are ankle biters everywhere.

Pretty close Moose. PHX has been stand alone for awhile now. Vegas - Sales Manager is now a Sales Rep, Sales manager is now out of PHX. Vegas selling out of Ontario w a Sales Manager in PHX? Yes Sir! New lease was signed for 5 years in Vegas, a year and a half ago. Makes zero sense. Closed now - all will calls are meet the truck in Vegas. You are 100% correct about the casinos. Dawn does very little business in those and pawned off 95% to Shetalkis.

King, Phoenix has been a stand alone warehouse but not fully stocked. Last year they took over an additional 20k in space next door and expect to have the racking done soon. Currently they are combining orders from both stock in PHX and transfer trucks from Ontario. They have run as many as 5 trucks a day from Ontario to Phoenix from what I heard.
New to me about the sales manager being demoted, last I heard was they were keeping the sales structure in tact. I had heard that they were going to add a sales manager in PHX and they most likely promoted from within, if they were smart.
Ontario lost their GM, Operations Manager and Transportation Manager since December. They are in a world of hurt right now and bringing additional resources to Ontario might be a bad call right now considering their management.
