I heard that Sysco just lost a class action lawsuit in California basically saying that the delivery fee they add to invoices is somehow not legal, and they have begun accumulating a list of customers to compensate. Any news from you Cubers?

I always heard that the delivery fee would go away once the price of diesel dropped below $3.50/gallon but that never happened. Its simply another cash cow for Sysco like their Earned Income!

We (regional dist) have a "delivery fee" $5 that was added when fuel went sky high.

It's hard to subtract once you've gotten used to that. It's just $ off the bottom line. Any of us Sysco, Reinhart whoever can remove that charge for a sensitive customer, but I do see how it breeds distrust from the customer.

Every distributor in Texas has the fuel surcharge fee.  Just so happens that at $5, Sysco was the cheapest of them all.
