Are there any other USF divisions out there that have gone through DOD routing changes, where our Transportation Dept dictates when customers are getting their deliveries? How has this worked out for you?

I know it’s coming to all of SoCal. Another big mistake. Each street account is different and has different needs. You can’t tell someone who isn’t even open on Sunday or Monday that they are getting a delivery on a closed day. You also can’t tell someone who does most of their business on the weekends, that they can’t have a Friday delivery. Not going to work.

In SDiego it's been nothing short of a nightmare, we've lost all credibility with our customers. Even those that haven't had their day changed, their time windows have been 2am-11pm. If Corporate wanted to get rid of our C & D customers, why didn't they just respectfully give them notice to find another distributor rather than put them & us through this circus? Customers and Employees feel abused! How much more can we take? I guess we'll see come August when they change our pay.

So Cal is imploding and nobody seems to care.

We've been told any customer who buys less than $3,000 a week is not worth it. And they have to buy everything from USF. If you're a C customer, you'd be better off going to Restaurant Depot or Costco Business. We have told these people that they we don't care about them.

I mentioned to my DSM that we should sell the C customers to local independent distributors. They would get better service and better pricing. He thought it was a good idea.

What happens when one of these C customers hits it big and opens a larger operation? They won't be talking to us. "You didn't care about me then, but you care about me now? F**K YOU!"

There has been a battle over ankle biting "C" accounts since Francis the mule pulled a wagon. Finally AI and analytics have determined the company makes no profit, the ole ROI and the numbers dont lie. Good will be damn! Stand to the side fellas and let R2D2 run things.

SOOOOO TRUE! They push push push for IND restaurants and majority will be a "C" or "D" customers, especially if it's a new business or a Mr. Customer doesn't have much Credit history, that's just how it ends up by their ranking standards. What the hell are we supposed to do!?!?

This is a nightmare. AI & R2D2 can't take into effect the human aspect of all of this. Without their orders delivering on their needed days (assuming we're their main supplier) the customer has no product, without the product they cannot sell, w/out the sale they cannot earn money, w/out the money they will close and their lively-hood is on the line. As well as ours, especially when this commission change comes in August. This is all taking a huge impact on the morale and health of the sales team, we are sick with worry, anxious, disappointed, deflated. I don't know how much more they're going to take...

The new US Foods "route compensation" plan starts July 1. I predict a mass exodus of TMs across the country to the local independent distributors. These companies still value initiative and customer relationships. Going to Sysco is not the answer for most reps.

The rest will leave after January 1, 2019 when TMs will start getting charged for customer credit card service charges and rebates from promos and contracts.

What does DOD stand for? I believe our division will soon become conformed to this. Curious to know what it's all about. They haven't told us anything yet

Day over Day.. it’s going to be a cluster-fck. Just remember it’s not your decision to do this, but still fight for you customers where you can & where it makes sense. A & B customers are going to be okay but C & D customers are going to be targeted, which are most your IR business. I can see it working better if they ask us to sit with specific customers to see if other days/times could work w/out cramming it down their throats, but to spring it on people w/out any choices really sucks. Customers feel how our management sees them, they feel unvalued & it’s pretty sad.
I’m truly disappointed in this company in the last 2 years, changed for the worse, but at least Pietro & Co have nice fat pockets, that’s all that matters right? Keep pumping that Kool-Aid out to those who are drinking it & scared to lose their jobs for standing up. Par for the political course nowadays. Pass the popcorn...

Ah, the old too little to ship / or margins aren't good enough paradigm. Lol

Yep-it’s going to be a cluster f*ck. Went through it at USF and it’s one of the reasons (among many) that I left.
