Sysco and US Foods each filed separate lawsuits in the northern district of Illinois claiming Tyson Foods, Pilgrim's Pride, Sanderson Farms and other chicken companies illegally agreed to reduce chicken supply to inflate prices, according to Bloomberg.

What do you want to bet that Tyson secretly owns all these other companies and is just screwing with us?

That's funny, a falling out among thieves. I like these two sentence from the Bloomberg article.

1. "Illegally conspiring to raise prices" (as opposed to the legal conspiracy that involves the false invoicing schemes of the Chicken mafia and their distribution partners to extract billions of dollars each year from their customer base)
2. "Made illegal agreements" --"As opposed to the legal agreement between supplier and distributor to pass on costs to their end user base that the distributor never really incurred". These "Fictitious costs" in the billions is also an illegal conspiracy to raise prices (and steal commissions from distributor sales people).

One possible legal defense available to  the chicken mafia is they could claim in court they are "vertically integrated" companies. You never know.

It's a good thing the membership at Rumors knows there is no such thing as conspiracy, legal, illegal or otherwise.

Big chicken producers have been screwing with supply and pricing for at least the last ten years. This should not be surprising to anyone.
Who's next into the spotlight? I vote for the frozen potato companies. Pricing increases annually - same rate, same time frame - collusion at its finest. At least they're transparent about it.
