I've done more than any of your neighbors, co workers, and politicians combined to get Obama impeached and thrown out of office. You're just stupid and that allows you to be controlled by simple minded rhetoric, symbols, etc.  You try to paint me as a communist because you really don't know what I represent. In fact you don't know what you really represent and therein lies the real source of your problems.   I suggest you look up the names Hamilton, Lincoln, FDR and JFK because they represent my principles.

I asked you if you had forgotten the last blocked major merger attempt  and you didn't answer. So I answered your question while you failed to answer my question. And yes it is the governments sole responsibility to protect the population and to promote the General Welfare.  When you have a financial parasite using food distribution as a means to destroy the economy-- it is the duty of government to prevent such parasites from violating the constitution---"life , liberty and the pursuit of happiness" of the people and their posterity,--- which is the law of our nation.

In another thread you suggested the constitution was written to protect the people from the government--that's insane not to mention stupid. The government was created in order to carry out the principles embedded in our constitution.

You fancy yourself a real conservative but you're actually the biggest lib-tard on this website. It's funny you don't know that about yourself but then again you're not real bothered by all the things you don't know.

There is no loyalty anywhere at this time.

Folks, I disagree. I work for a family owned independent distributor in the SW. Even with the horrible state of the restaurant industry, we are having fun and winning customers each week. Now is the time to try new tactics and strategies. Switch prospects and under-penetrated accounts. Call on new customers, go after the volume items. Yes, it is sad to see our customers close, and open and close again, but we need to help them be successful more than ever through this.

Fun to read my 4 year old comments on this thread.

I’ve since moved from a northern Midwest Indy to a New England Indy! I’m making boatloads more money and of course I need due to standard of living.

I like this forum. I wish it was a little more chummy and talked about industry stuff beyond just rumors about the big guys

I come on here a lot to ask product questions especially private label stuff.

Also to give and get advice!

Biggest piece of advice right now: find a solid independent and go there! Finally I’m making 6 figures on a straight commission. I’m praying it lasts and taking nothing for granted. Working hard but at a place where I can be pickier about customers.

Any other women in here?!

There’s no argument that this site has changed radically over the years. A decade ago this was a vibrant site with multiple pages, including the infamous Jim Miller page. Lots of input and variety. I don’t know if it was lawsuits or something else, but today it’s scaled back. Still fun to read, but certainly a large departure from the original.

I think people just got too busy with all the crap their companies were dumping on them. But, it still would be fun to hear about the BS that Houston, Rosemont and others are coming up with to make reps life more miserable.

It became a place for people that can’t change or resist change to complain about food sales and how they wish it was 10-20 years ago.  Suck it up buttercups, look at the trends and the industry in general and you will see that it is completely different.  There was a time of greatness as the dining out trend quickly increased vs eating at home.  That hit a plateau and growth slowed.  Years ago 20% sales growth was pushed... now that’s a thing of the past and single digit goals are the norm.  Now covid hits and the dining trends reverse but the industry can not sustain so companies make adjustments.  Those who embrace change and focus on maximizing their new comp plans at any distributor will make a decent living.  Those that keep crying need to get out, but their ability to resist change keeps them hanging on to complain another day.
