Hearing that the division is being ran more like a Sysco or US house....... Lots of reps leaving or looking.... What is going on???? I thought that they were going to be a player....Upper management dropped a not so stellar comm program on them today....

The Division"Manager" came from Lankford Sysco. He says he hates them but he is all Sysco blue. Talks a good game but has no relationship with sales people. He will end up raising pads like he always does, counts every penny but misses the dollars. Eventually he will leave, just wait. He went from Lankford Sysco to Baltimore Sysco to selling auto parts to US Manassas to US LA to GFS.

The problem is that they went out and hired a bunch of seasoned sales reps. You can't blow smoke up a bunch of veterans asses. Lots of promises not kept. Purchasing and transportation are a complete wreck. Upper management does not seem to care one bit......

Apparently yesterday dropped a complete joke of a comm plan on the sales force. Built only towards new business. No incentive at all to keep the business past a year. Good friend of mine left US to make the jump and made a call to come back after seeing that. Definitely seems like upper management is blowing it over there. Lots of the top sales reps were on the phone late Friday. There might be a lot of open positions there very soon.....

Yeah my buddy said his sales manager/vp of sales. He said that guy came from Gfs Florida. I do know who you are talking about though. The little fella.....

I'm just shocked that Gfs would allow this kind of operation. They have lost 6 or 7 sales reps and a few dms already and haven't been opened that long at all. I was close to jumping ship with the merger and all but thank God I didn't. I was worried about Gfs and their reputation but at least in my area, they are killing themselves.

The new GFS here in Charlotte is a joke. All they do is go in and LOW BALL!!! They do get accounts however 4 to 6 weeks later they are out again when service falls short, Product does not hold up, or the Magically Low Prices disappear! They thought they they would just come on in here and ton the business. Well problem is that this area of the country is one of the hardest areas. You have the two strongest US Foods locations here and both Sysco and IFH/PFG have been here for years. They hired a bunch of has- beens or wash ups who couldn't sell for the companies that they left ship for. The transplants that came into this area had the mindset that we were all "Hicks" and they could outsell us down here. Well guess what folks? They are having a cold dose of reality. My area has not yet had them hitting our area yet as they are mostly in Charlotte it seems like. It will not be long I guess. Here come the ankle biters.

I don't why GFS hired the midget after his tenure at La Mirada. Many reps left for our competitors. We all got tired of his Monday morning Rah-Rah emails that he must have cut-and-pasted from some MBA book.

I wonder what company he'll screw up next?

My buddy said he sends out the same looking email once every six weeks or so that looks like a cut and paste job. Doesn't sound like the little guy has changed much.

They hired some talent and a few wash outs in the mid Atlantic. They seemed to be starting out if the gates running and then hit a wall. Their prices will go crazy after having a customer for a year. After the double and triple commission period on new business, the top tier on an existing account is 500+ gp to get a whopping 20%. On top of that they put all of their reps on click down with all of the problems they are facing internally. Constant out of stocks, priced way above the markets, late trucks.

In two weeks they will be a skeleton crew. US and the small independents are going to pick them of their talent. It looks like maybe Gfs tried to get a little too big for its britches. Either that or they hired strong sales to get a great base and then push them out the door. Who knows?

Bahahahahahaha, don't worry guys!!  GFS will figure it out and phase out the low balling retards because the sky is not falling.  They will have the market share within 6-8 years just you wait and see.

Skeleton crew over there in 2 weeks LOL...

6 months since starting this and they have lost more and more of the reps they started with. The trans guy that was canned was a great guy. Damn shame. No veterans of this industry would touch this place with a 200 ft pole with their upper management...........

Special thanks to Steven and Robert from all of us at US. Keep up the great work!!!! We aren't the worst on the shore as long as you clowns are in charge,......

Gone and forgotten. Do you guys at GFS get his overly long cut-and-paste business words of wisdom?
