Hey, boys and girls! What's happening in your particular universe? Is everybody too busy updating their CRM to complain about management stupidity? Who's buying who? Who's leaving for what they hope is greener pastures?

All the big boys are reporting earnings this week. Sysco today, US tomorrow, PFG on Wednesday. Sysco is plowing on, US will talk about how far ahead they are of everyone else and how the rest of the world is chasing  trying to catch up, and PFG will just keep growing quietly.

I check in regularly to see what's going on - or what people THINK is going on.
I'm still in favor of going back to the old-style message board from the original FSR days; the free-flowing threads.

Things aren't nearly as exciting these days as when Ahold and US Foodservice got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.  That was good for years worth of gossip and news.

Now it's just one-off stories about worthless managers moving from one OpCo or branch to another, or from one company to another.  Same song.  Difference verse.

We need a good acquisition to discuss.  Or better yet, some good ol' fashioned book-cooking to get everyone's attention!!!

I know that management of all the companies reads FSR. A few years ago, we stopped USF from screwing with union people.

I'm waiting for a good scandal to show up. Like when Sysco got caught bid-rigging in Texas or the Ahold/USF/Jim Miller "what discounts?" blow up.

I think the next one will be about US Foods "Cookbook" pricing and "route compensation". Artificially raising prices every week so TMs have a hard time reaching the new bonuses. Charging TMs for customer credit card service charges and rebates from promotions.

Not to mention the republican tax scam that took away all of our business deductions.

Let's dish some dirt, people!

Look at all those past and current conspiracies, can they really be true seeing there is no such thing?

bestdsr, I can feel the sarcasm just dripping from your post!

I hope everyone has their resumes up to date, and are talking to their friends at our competitors about moving over. USF is going to have three empty buildings in Southern California.

Calm before the storm. Despite certain out of touch individuals demands, everyone talks. It’s a big little industry. And yes SoCalFoodDude, empty buildings coming. No doubt. Not sure how many, but I cannot see how they survive what’s coming. Give it about 3-4 weeks tops. The damage will be done. Good old fashioned competition.

Sorry, but the SalesForce app has us tied down with chains now! Instead of prospecting, cold calling, we are now slaves to SalesForce during our sales day!

Welcome to Big Brother Restaurant Supply. Management does't care if you open accounts or move more cases as long as you Salesforce (or other CRM) is up to date. It's very important that your corporate management know what you're doing. Because your CEO has nothing better to do than to see what you're doing.
