I've been with Sysco for some time now.. every year we're given more busy work and still expected to spend more time with our customers. If I'm tio keep the same quantity of time on the street I'll be up till midnight doing the busy work they keep piling on us. As far as you guys that are saying sysco has "better quality and better service"... please stop it!!! IBP, Heinz, Hellmanns etcetera are the same every where... as far as the SYS CLS, SYS IMP, Block barrel and butchers block brands go, they may have some benefits but they are by no means blowing the competition out of the water. I use to justify Sysco being higher priced but the longer I'm here the more of the light i really see... Sysco will no longer add to our pension i no longer get paid on bill to ship to's, will calls and the SOTF is total BS, I use to get 15-30% margin (3.4-4% of sale) on the catagory SOTF pays a flat 3% Thanks alot houston morons! Houston only cares about the price of the shares.. a short minded way of doing business..

It's unfortunate when a head office try's to manipulate an opco and strips them of their individuality bigger is not necessarily better it all boils down to the bottom dollar with the bulk of the profits returned to the home office at the expense of the sales team from what I understand it is no longer a lucrative market place where skills in selling are being replaced by low cost computer geeks.

Don't know what sotf is would imagine if you get terminated all contracts would be null and void depends how hardball you play it with regards to unused personal days or vacation and any money in pension plans that you might want to retrieve.take it to lawyer to read it over.

SOFT = Supplies On The Fly.. its a web site wher the customer can purchase equipment and supplies. ex. the customer goes on line and buys 3 rubber spatulas for $3.50 each i get paid 3% of the sale a wopping .33 cents. no one knows what a rubber spatula cost, i would have charged $10 or $15 for them. thats just an example though they micro managing us from the top down. I had 40-50% growth over the last 3 years 2.5 million at 13% margin over all.. Every month they come up with a new program thats just more busy work so the brass can track us. It seems like all they care about is inflating the stock price.

Think what he is trying to say is that his company as removed the possibility of him adding to the order thusremoving theopportunity to make some profit on these extra items the extra dollars generated separates real sales people from order takers.

Recently quit Sysco after being in training and given maternity coverage. The people in my territory were very nice and helpful. Other than that, terrible experience. Its a good job for burnt out chefs who need healthinsurance I guess. The pay is terrible and most people are content making 40k with no clue as to how to make more. You sell lettuce, and the most expensive lettuce for that matter. Adding value or selling on value is seeing how far Pedro can run your ass around to get butter on Saturdays. Youre an order taker and delivery driver. I spent my days interviewing (new job, almost doubled salary) hitting the gym, walking around china town and drinking 6 packs in the park. Really enjoyed the summer aCtually. The writing is on the wall for everyone in this industry. Its price price price. Soon, it will be all Mexican MAs making 12 hr. when I got the notice in the mail about pension being cut I knew I had made a great choice to quit. I feel bad for the good people I met who are getting bent over. Everything is going online, depot crushes Sysco (sorry you Sysco cult members, WMF pork is same S as Depot), stock trading sideways for years = not acceptable to share holders. so happy I got out and didn't give those retarded meatballs the satisfaction of canning me!Winning! Also, such a dirtbag busines. - you scam your customers daily to make an extra .01 to hit the grid! Lol everyone lies and scams, worse than used car sale guys by a mile! Good luck with SAP all the blue collar meatheads are going to meltdowns trying to figure that joke out. Poor IT guy, hope he makes it out or is getting paid 250k? SOTF, lol. ItS 1% if you get a bid you Tards. Girl sold 60k got 600 bones b 4 taxes, what a joke.

Sysco Pittsburgh is doing its own share of "blood letting". Several MA's gone, two DSM's demoted. internal employees cut. SKU's reduced. People here are
concerned for the future. It would be hard to find anyone who believes the corporation is making good decisions

LAMA and other Sysco LA MAs, US Foods-Los Angeles is looking for good people. Not as much micromanagement as the Cube. Lots of new and exciting things to sell. I'm sure you've seen the SCOOP magazines and had your customers show you what they bought from us. Looking forward to seeing some of you at our next sales meeting.

Your logic if flawed....Isellketchup said,
"its exactly what they want

Is that why weak ma's are getting the pink slip and territories are expanding?  So the ma's make less?  Some of you should think before you post.

From a Sysco stockholder who expects a steady to rising dividend and that
is achieved by rising sales, cutting costs and incresing bottom line.Yes,you
better produce more because huge number of unemployed college waiting
for your job.
Love the quote,John Baugh would never have put up with the pressure on
employees.Well,John Baugh never envisioned manufactuers reps going out
into the field telling chains and rest.operators what the distributor was paying
for the product.

Sysco Raleigh announced yesterday at the end of their sales meeting that there would be compensation meetings over the next few weeks. They just threw it out there and left everyone hanging. Buried it between a marching band and a game of jeopardy. Not kidding. if anyone was listening the head cheese said that "we've been taking care of everyone for a while now but we are going to have to start growing". I wonder what that means.

I don't think USF is going to roll out a new (read: lower) commission plan. As far as I know, each Division has it's own plan based on what part of the country they're in.

A sneaky way they mess with our commissions is to raise the pad on certain items. Also when new items are brought in, the top margin is under 20%.
