Customer of mine on the south side said he heard Northern Haserot/Curtze is asking if Sysco's interested in buying? Can anyone confirm? I heard they were down 70% through the pandemic. WOW

A coworker and I had heard the same thing earlier today, where there's smoke there's fire!

Why would Sysco want this piece of the puzzle? Specialty Steaks is their only differentiator. Most of their production workers  / drivers are union. Other than protein - their product lines are meh. Warehouses are of little value to anyone else.

Also, a lot of the salespeople are making well over 100k. Think sysco will continue to allow that? When the salespeople run will the customers follow?

Absolutely no value to any of the mega distributors. Niche distributor at best , although can to a pain in the ass in my market but not very strong. Not many national labels, tons of over valued private labels average to below quality at best from what I've seen in cuttings . Their cut steak program is full of smoke and mirrors. Lots of misleading terminology, I have an account that was sent their "house prime", not USA prime, when ordered choice at couple extra $$ a per #. It was choice repackaged as house prime. Rep tried to say it was as good or better then USDA prime. Owner didn't by into the bs. Just my 2 cents. Happy selling boys and girls,
