Wondering what happened here on the Forum? Offline for several days and now that it’s back, no recent posts. Routine maintenance?

Hi Salesman, are you referring to customers or employees? From their earnings report yesterday sales and profits are up for Q1.

Everyone is too busy on LinkedIn, Indeed and other job boards looking to escape from Sysco and USF.

I work at a small, independent distributor. And I, too, am looking to get out. Seems like the whole industry just isn't fun anymore. It's not even interesting............

All depends on where you're at I suppose. The industry certainly has evolved over the years, but fortunately so has our company, and in a positive way. We're still having a lot of fun in this crazy industry. I wouldn't trade my daily interactions with my customers or teammates unless it was for a winning Powerball ticket.

I’m loving it. Everyday I remind myself I could be slaving away in a kitchen for 14 hours a day, not seeing my family, with little or no reward.

I agree Dino, I work half the hours and make twice as much money, all while cruising around and enjoying the fresh air. Certainly has some challenges but the benefits are a no brainer

Love what I do, change is inevitable. If you are miserable you should definitely find something else.

Good for you! I think there is too much big brother and micromanagement today. It's even infecting some of the smaller independents.Quote:

If that's your yard stick- then yes- food sales is a better situation. However there are other options, LOTS of them.
