Do you have actual recent intel on Reinhart? There's been speculation about them trying sell for years now.

As far as PFG...they already have 2 broadlines, a Vistar and a customized facility in TN. That's not to say they wouldn't acquire more in TN, I just wouldn't have put anything in TN on top of the list.

And I certainly wouldn't think RH would be selling "pieces" of their operation is that's what you're implying. Typically doesn't work that way.

Since you are with IFH, oh sorry, PFG in Raleigh Mr Lettuce, how do you know everything that goes on in the food biz in the world?

Ha. I'm with Performance yes, but not there.

As far as knowing things regarding M&A...I don't know much at all. Not my "department". That's why I asked the question, I'm as curious as the next person.

I do find it comical that you have 2 posts on the forum and they're both about me working somewhere that I don't. Not exactly sure how you drew that conclusion, but keep it at, it seems to be working for you.

please reduce the personal and go back to the question.

RFS is a poorly run company.  individuals in positions that have no working knowledge of job, no experience just a degree.  corporate is hiring abacus wizards.  deteriorating rapidly.  pulling funds from rfs for reyes buying coke and beer units.  the well must be close to dry.

I can honestly say I think RFS is run poorly, but as far as the fund drying up...no...until Reyes holding let's them go. I do possible see either shamrock foods or Cheney bro making a run to purchase them. It kinda sad to bc when you look at all the other Reyes holdings companies , they do great. MB, Great Lakes, the beverage side. Just RFS. Hopefully they can pull through it

So, generally speaking, the water cooler chatter has been that after the first year of this current administration (assuming it doesn't implode), the regulatory climate will be such that you will see M&A happen on a more frequent basis. Outside of small dealings here and there, our industry has been somewhat quite on that front.

I can certainly see RH getting gobbled up by somebody, for many of the reasons that you said, along with a couple of other smaller regionals that I am aware of.

The stuff that I'm hearing is that companies are out there trying to put deals together but the "asking" prices are too high. Again, I'm not privy to any confidential information, but I work fairly close to people who are.

I think we'll see something, somewhat significant, happen at some point here this calendar year.

I think based on the activity I've seen, they are trying to get their organization in shape for a sale.
Overhead reductions.  VPs taking on multiple facilities in their functional area.  Trim the fat, and making it more appealing.
Everyone knows that their corporate personnel isn't exactly cut out for the task at hand.
But if they are going to sell, the corporate office can be shut down on day 1.

Just hear a rumor today that RFS will be closing the ATLANTA division down. What is going on with this company. I don't think they will make it a year unless someone buys them out

Mclane took over Atlanta. May have taken over something in Florida also. Snatched up all the Burger King stores down that way.
