True.  17 MA's at my opco, and lots of drivers as well.  57 total laid off I think.  Long road ahead for all of us in foodservice.

The CEO is a bold faced liar 30% lay-off nationwide. This is not what he relayed in this interview. 2 billion of surplus on their balance sheets but mass conference call lay offs and presidents reading off a script... what a joke. How about exec. Management taking a pay cut so they can keep people employed and insured.  Click the link and watch the ceo talk out of his a55.

ive been out for a while but  feel for all my ex fellow sales reps.

Sysco Corporate will get hit next.  They'll most likely wait another week before cleaning house at Enclave.

At least the stimulus bill will give you a few more unemployment dollars.

Bold faced Lie I agree.  If they were truly committed to saving jobs - how about forgoing MILLIONS in bonuses, cutting executive pay, keeping people on at 75% pay. Support your work force for a month or two Just like you said your were planning on doing on national TV.

If its a step that is truly necessary due to current circumstances- a mass firing via conference call from a scripted sheet is heartless and unforgivable in my opinion.

Was it based on seniority,  performance, geography, old boy network?

Start with the Board of Directors and their $300,000+ salaries. At 44 years of age, this lying CEO POS shouldn't have too much of a  problem finding work making ventilators.

I thankfully left the cube but heard they let go between 75 and 85 at my old opco. Over half were drivers, office staff, warehouse, and 10 sales. DSM had no say in it. Waa just announced in a manager meeting who they were going to let go. Read it like a shopping list.

I had the local Sysco dsm say they didn’t let any sales person go who was 100% commission.

Any truth to that?
