Ted was never a great leader to be sure but if you think he was the only obstacle to your success, you will be complaining about the next guy too. You're reaching back to Barnes as an excuse! Ted played favorites, kept grudges, ruined careers and created an environment that was dictatorial. Year over year the annual survey proved that his Opco didn't trust him and he narrowly missed a class action suit from a group of women he pushed out purely because he could. So yeah, Ted had his day coming but there have been plenty of great sales opportunities in Detroit. Sales will always complain about leadership and vice versa, it sounds to me like you really didn't experience the "wrath of Ted" since you're still around. Go sell some groceries

FSP, Ted was always a terrible leader, and I never blamed my growth on him, my growth has always been very strong. In Detroit Barnes started the screw the MA mentality, Ted has just been the latest to carry it on. If corporate will allow SC's the ability to hand price at reasonable levels, we should see tremendous growth. The amount of fat getting cut out should help. Just need to see Vander-Douce and his bulbous alcoholic nose shown the door, he's been a waste of space since he got here. The future is bright at Sysco Detroit, most of my customers who have heard the news are excited about the changes.
