Idiots in Rosemont are trying to do ALL purchasing through the main office. I agree with commoditiesguy that a lot of the non-perishables could be done that way, perishables need to be sourced locally. Local buyers know what's available in their areas and who is the best source. Why are we ordering chicken in the Midwest for the Western states? Wait until winter, and trucks are delayed by snowstorms. Try explaining to your customer why he can't get his Patuxent Farms chicken from you. I'm sure Sysco, Shamrock or the local meat company can help him. SMFH!

Also, most national brand manufacturers have warehouses all over the country. So, why can't So Cal order from the local Heinz, Sara Lee or ConAgra DC?
