The chat room is "TedHall."  There are a group of regulars there that you are welcome to join; however, you can open your own room anytime you want.  Let me know if you can't use it properly.

Looks like this is the thread that will not die.

What did you think of the sales meeting yesterday? Drop the costume contest. This isn't High School Musical 3. Shorten the company business part and get into the meeting. Go back to four break outs and one vendor fair. We don't need a recap at the end. We all know what we just saw. Maybe get a bigger place? Get us out at noon so we can do some work!

Tommy, we will never see any vendors other than those represented by Elite, J Goodman and Food Sales West. There might be some interesting lines from smaller vendors, but they don't have the bucks to be at our meetings. So get used to Chef Francisco Soups and Sara Lee desserts.

It appears that the writing is on the wall, the first shoe will drop soon, then everyone will wait the for second shoe to drop,  tough times are ahead for this division, that seems to be the general vibe.

People are being pressured to take vacation days, unpaid leave is "highly encouraged", teamsters are being shuffled around, I have to collect money more than I sell anymore, I have to do will calls more than I sell anymore, as we seem to have caps on inventory every month, out of stocks are killing us, but we can afford to tear down every wall on one floor and replace it with glass.  Makes good sense there!

Glorified delivery boys is what we have become.

We are in a sad state, there were some really bad decisions made earlier this year regarding sales and we are paying for it now.

It's a shame, good people will probably lose some jobs, but those whiney ass Cube cry babies we OVERPAID for and their low margin customers will still be hanging in there, while long time employees probably get laid off.  My stomach churns whenever I see or hear them coming my way.  I avoid the branch at all costs.

Ego mania has finally taken it's toll on this division. Heritage, my ass!

This branch has been a non-stop disaster back to when the guys in Wilkes Barre owned it.

The first shoe has already dropped. Making the TMs jump through hoops for off-days and under minimums is an incredible waste of time. Even more wasteful is having the DSMs call the RBMs to beg for approval. So much for "TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER."  Take the signs down, Fred.

The E&S inventory is still a joke. The quantities brought in from Reno will be wiped out by the first big opening order.  Instead of worrying about their bonuses and glass walls, Purchasing should be concerned with having enough inventory on hand. Hoepfully, we won't run out of pumpkin pie before Thanksgiving again.

The way Jon and Fred fawn over these people from Sysco makes me sick. Getting a six-figure guarantee to sell at cost minus makes no sense. How many of these reps will leave and take their accounts with them once the guarantees expire? Will Bristol Farms pay anything close to a regular mark up? Doubt it!

The heritage of this company were the high quality products and the most knowledgeable sales force in the business.  The glory days of the 60s and 70s are long gone. The new reality is Restaurant Depot, Sam's Club, and Costco. Customers are saying "I can get it cheaper at _____________." They may want our expertise, but they have no problem undercutting us by buying what we show them elsewhere.

I hope we can survive the next 6 months. Hopefully our new masters won't resort to slash and burn tactics to make a profit.

First of all, you too could make 6 figures. If you would stop  and go out and get your share of the markek and open some new accounts. It's all about cases on the truck. Sysco has lost cases and $$$ because they are no longer the dominant giant they once were. It's your turn. U.S. Foods. Just do your job and stop worrying about who makes what and who was given. Sounds like your sales are nothing and your nothing, just waiting for a handout. Your lucky to have a job!
I KNOW YOU

I KNOW YOU...do you work at the chaotic circus that is USF LA Mirada?  We are talking about a specific division and the problems we see from within as employees.  Save the pep talk and basic rookie advice for someone else, OK Master of the Obvious!

Idiot!

I KNOW YOU, I'm out there every day knocking on doors and opening new business. I go on this site to get a laugh and blow off a little steam. Most of what is written here would get us fired if we actually said these things to Senior Management. It doesn't matter who you work for.

Hey Anton, No, I do not work for your company however, you satanic worship a$$hole. I have been the industry longer than your devil worshiping green beans have been in the can. So shut your mouth and do your job. If you don't like the changes taking place then move on. From what I know about your current state of affairs, US Foods is making these changes for the better. That's why S.E. Ripoff failed when new players came into town [SYSCO]. So in order to compete, change is necessary. Otherwise, business as usual and someone else will conquer. If it's not SYSCO, then it will be someone else. Why do you think SYSCO is changing their logo and their slogan? Get on with it or get out. Learn how to take an account away and own it instead of picking through someone else’s trash left behind.

I KNOW YOUR kind.

Now, who's the idiot?

If you want to banter back on fourth with me and loose, start a new thread, otherwise "rookie" move on, cry baby.
I certainly KNOW YOU

Although the post from IKNOWYOU is a little rough it speaks to most of the issues that are discussed on this site.  Our business is in the beginning stages of some of the most fundamental changes in memory.  Those that can accept, adapt and take advantage of the new strategies and philosophies of their companies will succeed with a lucrative career.

There will be very little security for any of us in this business because, fundamentally, we are not a high skilled industry.  That is not meant to impugn any professional's abilities it is just a fact.

Work hard, work smart, be flexible and produce results.  If not, your whiny ass will be history.

Thank you BSmithers. I appreciate your comments on the adaptability. The rest was quite poignant too. Thanks for the support.

I KNOW YOU...my complaints have absolutely nothing to do with opening new business, owning accounts, etc... I could bring on 50 new accounts, yet the division's problems will remain unchanged.  The problems at this division We are discussing right now have nothing to do with the ability of the sales rep.

This rhetoric you spew is the same in every post you make, get some new material and  butt the F out of a divisional thread.

You do not want to go toe to toe with me pal, trust me.

Lie, rot and stink the earth!

Hard to go toe to toe with an ungulate.

Bring it on you worthless scum of the earth. BRING IT ON! You couldn't open your zipper to piss let alone any accounts. You’re the type that blames others for your failures. Look in the mirror Lucifer. You'll probably vote for the one for change and when $hit hits the fan, you'll be the first to complain!

I KNOW YOU and your type
